Sandra Harnisch-Lacey Blog Introduction

arts council of walesWelcome to my blog about my Creative Wales Award 2012, awarded by the Arts Council for Wales. Over the past months I have been researching, traveling, dancing, acquiring bruises and deeply enjoying meeting and engaging with some amazing people.

The Creative Wales Award enables me to take time out of my normal busy life and research into ‘Fusion’. The research is divided into different stages. Stage 1 is interviewing and observing various artists and choreographers, and finding out how they fuse different styles within their art form, but also experiencing myself some training in various areas.

Stage 2 is working with two dancers over three weeks to create a fusion language of Harnisch-Lacey Dance Theatre.  Initially improvisation, movement analysis and creation of material will be carried out in the studio. But since I am very interested how the space affects movement material, the dancers and I will be exploring various environments.
