Mark Melville, Composer and Sound Designer – Interview

Mark Melville trained at The Leeds College of Music and now works as a composer and sound designer in theatre, dance and film. He previously worked with Vanishing Point on ‘Saturday Night’ and ‘The Beggar’s Opera’. His other recent cresdits include ‘Knives in Hens’, ‘The MiracleMan’ and ‘Empty’ for The National Theatre of Scotland. ‘Quicksand’, ‘The Snow Queen’, ‘Peter Pan’, ‘Of Mice and Men’ and ‘The Beauty and the Beast’ at The Dukes Theatre, Lancaster; the MyStar! Iphone video game for Mobile Pie/Orange, ‘Grimm Tales’ for Theatre by The Lake, Keswick and ‘What Happened is This’, ‘One Night Stand’, ‘Naked Neighbour’ and ‘Best Friends’ for M6/Ludus Dance. Examples of his sound design work were exhibited at the Prague Quadrennial in June last year. He is an Associate Artist with The Dukes Theatre, Lancaster.
